charlie-chaplin.jpgSir Charles Spencer Chaplin, Jr., (16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977), better known as Charlie Chaplin, was an Academy Award-winning English comedy actor. Chaplin became one of the most famous actors as well as a notable director, composer and musician in the early to mid Hollywood cinema era. He is considered to have been one of the finest mimes and clowns ever caught on film and has greatly influenced performers in this field.

The first, and in many ways the greatest, cocktail era was also the age of silent films, and it is no surprise to hear that, just as Mary Pickford was honored with a cocktail named after her, so was the greatest silent comic of them all.

Charlie Chaplin
1 oz. Sloe Gin
½ oz. Apricot Brandy
½ oz. Lime Juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker full of ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of lime, and perhaps a silver of apricot.
